Coroplast — sold as corflute in Australia and correx in the UK — is a twin-wall polypropylene sheet with hollow flutes running through it. That structure makes it extremely light, completely waterproof and cheap enough to be treated as disposable, which is exactly what political campaigns, real estate agents and event promoters need.
It is not a permanent material. The sheet flexes in strong wind, the surface is difficult to clean once dusty, and long-term UV exposure makes it brittle. For anything expected to look good for more than about two years, a rigid substrate such as aluminium composite or PVC is a better choice. We will tell you when that is the case.
The 4 mm sheet is the standard for real estate and yard signs: light enough to push an H-stake into the ground, stiff enough to stay flat at 460 x 610 mm. For larger panels above roughly 600 x 900 mm, step up to 5 mm or 8 mm so the sign does not bow. The 10 mm sheet is used for temporary hoarding, floor protection and construction site panels.
Thickness also drives cost more than size does, so if your budget is tight and the sign is small, staying at 4 mm and adding a second stake is usually the better trade.
We print directly onto the sheet with UV flatbed presses. UV ink cures instantly on contact and sits on top of the polypropylene rather than soaking in, so colours stay saturated. White ink is printed underneath colour artwork where the sheet is coloured, and as a standalone colour for one-colour text signs.
Screen printing is used for very large runs of the same artwork, and for fluorescent or safety colours where ink film thickness matters. Panels can be die-cut to shape, rounded at the corners, drilled, or fitted with grommets for hanging.
H-wire stakes are the standard ground fixing: the two legs push into the flutes from below and hold the sign at a slight backward angle so rain runs off. Step stakes have a foot tread for hard or compacted ground. For wall or fence mounting we drill holes or add grommets, and for glass we supply suction cups with hooks.
Real estate and for-sale signs, political campaign and election signs, yard and lawn signs, directional and parking signs, construction site and safety notices, open house and event signage, temporary retail promotions, and agricultural or orchard marking.
Because the surface is slightly ribbed, avoid very small text and hairline strokes. Keep body copy above roughly 8 pt at final size and use bold weights. Supply vector artwork where possible, and remember the flutes run in one direction — we orient the sheet so the flutes run vertically for ground stakes.
Send your artwork, size, material preference, quantity and destination. We quote within one working day with a material recommendation and a lead time. If you are not certain which material suits the application, describe where the product will be used and we will specify it for you.
We then produce a sample on the same production equipment as the bulk order, so what you approve is what you receive. After sample approval we run production, inspect, and pack for export — flat packed, rolled or boxed depending on the product — with documentation prepared for your destination. Shipment is by sea, air or courier.
